Our horseshoe flower vase design has now been seen more than 1 million times across social media, and we’ve loved watching the reactions roll in. It’s simple. It’s Western. And it turns something rooted in ranch life into a piece you can actually use in your home, wedding, event, or everyday décor.

But with all those views comes a fair question:

Did we invent the horseshoe mason jar flower vase?

Nope.

Did we put our own spin on it and make a version we think looks pretty dang good? Absolutely.

It Started With Our Horseshoe Belt Buckles

For more than six months, we’ve been taking horseshoes and turning them into unique Western pieces, including our handcrafted horseshoe belt buckles.

We loved taking something recognizable from Western culture and transforming it into something completely unexpected.

Then we came across another fun horseshoe project on Etsy: a horseshoe being used with a mason jar to create a flower vase.

Immediately, the wheels started turning.

We didn’t want to simply make another version of what was already out there.

We asked:

The answer was sitting right in front of us, our belt buckles.

So We Made the Horseshoe Vase the BRANDED Way

Instead of leaving the horseshoe unfinished, we gave it a clean black finish that makes the shape of the horseshoe pop while still keeping that rugged Western character.

But the detail that really brings the whole thing together?

Authentic horseshoe nails.

We incorporated real horseshoe nails into the design, with your choice of copper or silver, just like the details we’ve been using to give our horseshoe belt buckles their distinctive look.

The result is something that feels clean enough for modern Western décor but rugged enough to still belong in a barn.

And that balance is exactly what we wanted.

Copper Nails or Silver Nails?

This might be our favorite part because one small change gives the vase two completely different personalities.

Copper horseshoe nails bring warmth to the design and look incredible with sunflowers, warm woods, leather, rust tones, turquoise accents, and traditional Western décor.

Silver horseshoe nails create a cleaner contrast against the black horseshoe. It’s perfect for modern Western, ranch-house, black-and-white, or more neutral décor.
