The Horseshoe Flower Vase Going Viral: Our Take on Western Mason Jar Décor

What happens when you take a horseshoe, a mason jar, a handful of flowers, and a little BRANDED attitude?

Apparently, over a million views.

Our horseshoe flower vase design has now been seen more than 1 million times across social media, and we’ve loved watching the reactions roll in. It’s simple. It’s Western. And it turns something rooted in ranch life into a piece you can actually use in your home, wedding, event, or everyday décor.

But with all those views comes a fair question:

Did we invent the horseshoe mason jar flower vase?

Nope.

Did we put our own spin on it and make a version we think looks pretty dang good? Absolutely.

And that story is actually part of what makes this piece special.

It Started With Our Horseshoe Belt Buckles

For more than six months, we’ve been taking horseshoes and turning them into unique Western pieces, including our handcrafted horseshoe belt buckles.

We loved taking something recognizable from Western culture and transforming it into something completely unexpected.

Then we came across another fun horseshoe project on Etsy: a horseshoe being used with a mason jar to create a flower vase.

Immediately, the wheels started turning.

We didn’t want to simply make another version of what was already out there.

We asked:

How would BRANDED make it?

The answer was sitting right in front of us, our belt buckles.

So We Made the Horseshoe Vase the BRANDED Way

Instead of leaving the horseshoe unfinished, we gave it a clean black finish that makes the shape of the horseshoe pop while still keeping that rugged Western character.

But the detail that really brings the whole thing together?

Authentic horseshoe nails.

We incorporated real horseshoe nails into the design, with your choice of copper or silver, just like the details we’ve been using to give our horseshoe belt buckles their distinctive look.

The black horseshoe creates the foundation.

The metallic nails add just enough contrast.

The clear mason jar keeps the flowers at the center of the design.

The result is something that feels clean enough for modern Western décor but rugged enough to still belong in a barn.

And that balance is exactly what we wanted.

Choose your nail finish, add your favorite flowers, and create a Western centerpiece that feels completely your own.

Copper Nails or Silver Nails?

This might be our favorite part because one small change gives the vase two completely different personalities.

Copper horseshoe nails bring warmth to the design and look incredible with sunflowers, warm woods, leather, rust tones, turquoise accents, and traditional Western décor.

Silver horseshoe nails create a cleaner contrast against the black horseshoe. It’s perfect for modern Western, ranch-house, black-and-white, or more neutral décor.

Same design. Two very different looks.

And because flowers can be swapped whenever you want, the vase doesn’t have to stay locked into one aesthetic. Sunflowers in the summer, wildflowers in spring, dried florals in fall, greenery year-round, you get the idea.

More Than Just a Flower Vase

One of the things we love most about this design is how many places it works.

Picture several of them running down the center of long wooden tables at a Western wedding reception filled with baby’s breath and wildflowers.

Or sunflowers sitting on a kitchen island in a ranch-style home.

Or one sitting on the counter of a Western boutique.

Western home décor

And yes, you could absolutely ditch the flowers and get creative with what goes inside the mason jar too.

One Million Views Later

The coolest part isn’t really the million views.

It’s seeing how many people connected with such a simple idea.

A horseshoe.

A mason jar.

Some flowers.

And a few details that make it ours.

We didn’t invent the horseshoe flower vase, and we don’t need to pretend we did. We saw a fun idea and asked the same question that drives a lot of what we create at BRANDED:

How can we make this different?

For us, that meant taking inspiration from the horseshoe belt buckles we’d already been making, adding the clean black finish, and finishing them with authentic copper or silver horseshoe nails.

Western roots. Modern style. Made the BRANDED way.

And apparently the internet likes it too.
